FiveM Clothing Script
A clothing script decides how every character on your server looks. It runs the creator, the clothing, barber and tattoo shops, saved outfits and job uniforms, and multicharacter, housing and job scripts call it to load a look. That is why replacing one feels risky: if players lose their saved appearance, the whole server notices.
Cylex Apex Clothing is a character creator and clothing system that shows a photo of every clothing item. This page explains what it covers, what it needs and how switching works. For screenshots, the price and the full feature list, see the Apex Clothing product page.
What Apex Clothing covers, grouped by use
Character creation
New characters are made in a studio with heritage, face, skin, hair, makeup and tattoos, with undo and redo. If the game crashes or the player disconnects halfway, the creator reopens with the look so far. The first character is always free.
Shops and outfits
Clothing, barber, tattoo and surgeon shops and wardrobes are set up in config. Favourite items wait in one tab. Outfits can be saved, sent to a player nearby or shared as a code, and bosses manage job and gang outfits by grade. Each shop charges per item, per category, a fixed price or nothing, and the server checks every price.
Clothing photos
The photos are taken once, on your own server, by your team. An in-game wizard splits the work between helpers you add by server ID, and a new clothing pack later only needs its new items shot. The photos are stored on Fivemanage or on your own server disk.
Control for server owners
ACE permissions limit clothing items and peds, and /pedmenu can be given by job, gang or citizen ID. The menu's accent colour, glass or solid panels and corner style get a server default, and any player setting can be locked.
Framework and resource requirements
- Database: oxmysql (required)
- Framework: QBCore, QBox or ESX, or standalone without a framework
- ox_lib: optional, recommended
- Target: ox_target or qb-target, optional
- Photos: a Fivemanage API key, or storage on your own server
The framework is detected on start. Without one, the script runs standalone: there are no jobs or gangs, shops are free and players are saved by their FiveM licence.
Escrow only
Apex Clothing is sold as an escrow version only; there is no open source version. Settings, locales and integrations stay open. The built interface is not meant to be edited: if its files change, purchases in the menu are turned off until the original files are back. Apex Clothing is not part of the GOLD or DIAMOND subscriptions and is listed with the other escrow scripts.
How it compares with other approaches
Keeping your players' looks
Switching clothing scripts often means players rebuild their characters. Apex Clothing uses the same tables as illenium-appearance, so looks, outfits and share codes carry over without a command. Switching from qb-clothing, esx_skin, fivem-appearance, Quasar and CodeM Clothing, bl_appearance, juddlie_appearance or wasabi appearance is supported as well; the documentation describes the steps. Back up your database before you switch.
Arrows or photos
Many clothing menus let players step through numbered items with arrows, which needs no setup. A photo grid is quicker to browse, but someone has to take and store the photos. Apex Clothing supports both views, so you can go live with rows and add photos later.
Scripts that depend on the clothing script
Apex Clothing registers itself as illenium-appearance and answers its exports, as well as the events of qb-clothing, esx_skin and skinchanger. Multicharacter, housing and job scripts written for those keep working, as long as no old illenium-appearance folder remains and Apex Clothing starts before them. In practice almost every script that supports illenium-appearance works with it, including Cylex Multicharacter V3 and V2.
Installation, updates and support
After payment the resource is added to your Cfx.re account and appears in the Cfx.re Portal. Move your old clothing script out of the resources folder, then start Apex Clothing right after your framework and before your multicharacter, housing and job scripts. It creates its own tables, so there is no SQL file to import. The Apex Clothing documentation covers each step, including switching from another clothing script.
Updates are published to the same Portal entry and listed in the changelog. Support is handled on the Cylex Discord.
Clothing script FAQ
Do I have to take the clothing photos before going live?
No. Without photos the menu works in the row view. You can take the photos later.
Where are the photos stored?
On Fivemanage by default, where the free plan is enough for most servers. They can also stay on your server disk and be sent over the game network.
Can it run without a framework?
Yes. Standalone, it has no jobs or gangs, shops are free and players are saved by their FiveM licence.
Which languages are included?
Twelve. English and Turkish are complete; in the other ten, missing texts show in English.
Does it work with Cylex Multicharacter?
Yes. Multicharacter V3 and V2 both support illenium-appearance, and Apex Clothing answers as illenium-appearance. See the FiveM multicharacter script page.
Can I open a free wardrobe from a housing script?
Yes. Add a free shop in the config and open it with the export, or open a wardrobe with the outfit menu event.
