FiveM Housing Script

Housing gives players something to own and spend money on over weeks rather than hours. A housing script has to handle buying and renting, keys, storage, interiors and decoration, and it ties into your economy, inventory and garage. Someone also has to create properties, choose interiors and keep listings from going stale.

Cylex has two housing scripts. Apex Housing is the newer one and works with shells, IPLs, MLOs and apartment complexes. Modern Housing is the older, shell-based script with a furniture editor and houses you can build anywhere on the map. This page explains how they differ and which setup fits which server. For screenshots, prices and full feature lists, see the product pages for Apex Housing and Modern Housing.

Apex Housing, grouped by use

For owners and residents

One owner panel handles utility bills, keys, doors, lights and upgrades. Keys carry separate permissions, so a roommate can open storage without being able to redecorate. Every property has its own garage, stash and wardrobe. Furniture is placed inside and in the garden with a 3D gizmo, and a layout can be saved and loaded again later.

For admins and realtors

Properties are created in game with the /housing command through a three-step creator, without editing config files. Admins and realtor jobs see every listing with its status and transactions, the listing realtor earns a commission, and properties left vacant too long are flagged.

For the rest of the server

Rentals run from 7 to 28 days. Listings appear on a board with an NPC agent and on for-sale signs. Police jobs set in config can raid a property and search its stash for a limited time. Discord logs cover property, economy, keys, admin, upgrade and security events.

Modern Housing and the Housing Bundle

Modern Housing is built around shells. It ships with 3 islands and 14 building props, so staff can place a building anywhere on the map and turn it into a house. It has a furniture editor for house and garden, permanent keys with or without edit rights, and short invitations for visitors. Houses are created by command, by admins or a job you choose.

The Housing Bundle combines Modern Housing with the Cylex 10-shell pack and the Neon, UwU and Osaka prop packs; the props appear in the furniture catalog on their own. The bundle does not include Apex Housing.

Framework and resource requirements

Apex Housing

  • OneSync and ox_lib (required)
  • Database: oxmysql, mysql-async or ghmattimysql
  • Framework: ESX or QBCore
  • Inventory: ox, qb, qs, ps, codem or origen
  • Target: ox_target or qb-target

Modern Housing

  • Framework: QBCore or ESX
  • Shells: from config, or the Cylex 10-shell pack
  • Inventory and clothing: most scripts, connected through config

Apex Housing is built for ESX and QBCore and has not been officially tested on QBox yet. Modern Housing supports QBCore and ESX.

Escrow, bundle and subscriptions

Apex Housing, Modern Housing and the Housing Bundle are sold as escrow versions only; there is no open source version of either script. The scripts are listed with the other escrow scripts, and the bundle under bundles.

If you would rather pay monthly, Modern Housing is part of both the GOLD and DIAMOND subscriptions, and Apex Housing is part of DIAMOND.

Choosing a housing setup

Apex Housing or Modern Housing

Apex Housing suits servers that want IPLs, MLOs or apartment complexes next to shells, run bills and rentals, or let a realtor job manage listings in game. Modern Housing suits servers that want shell-based houses placed anywhere on the map with a smaller feature set, and it is the one available as a bundle with shells and props.

Compared with other housing scripts

Housing scripts mainly differ in three ways: which interior types they support (shells only, or also IPLs and MLOs), whether properties are created in game or in config files, and how much of the property they handle themselves (garage, stash, wardrobe) instead of relying on other resources. A script that brings its own garage and stash saves setup time; if your players already use a garage script, check how the two fit together first. The Cylex Phone and the Cylex MDTs do not integrate with Apex Housing or Modern Housing yet.

Installation, updates and support

After payment the resource is added to your Cfx.re account and appears in the Cfx.re Portal. For Apex Housing, enable OneSync and start ox_lib and your database resource first; properties are then created in game, not in config. Setup guides are in the documentation for Apex Housing and Modern Housing.

Updates are published to the same Portal entry and listed in the changelog. Support is handled on the Cylex Discord.

Housing script FAQ

Can Apex Housing mix shells, IPLs and MLOs on one server?

Yes. Shell, IPL, MLO and apartment properties are all made with the same in-game creator.

Does Apex Housing support QBox?

It is built for ESX and QBCore and has not been officially tested on QBox yet. If you run QBox, ask on Discord before buying.

Can I move houses from Modern Housing to Apex Housing?

No. There is no migration tool between the two scripts, so properties are created again in Apex Housing.

Do players need a separate garage or stash script for their house?

Not with Apex Housing. Every property has its own garage, stash and wardrobe.

Can a realtor job sell houses?

Yes. In Apex Housing, admins and realtor jobs create and manage listings in game, and the listing realtor earns a commission.

Does the Housing Bundle include Apex Housing?

No. The bundle contains Modern Housing, the 10-shell pack and three prop packs.
