FiveM Multicharacter Script

The character screen is the first thing a player sees after connecting. A multicharacter script keeps several characters per player, each with its own name, job, money and look, and hands the chosen one to your spawn and apartment scripts. It sits between your framework, clothing script and spawn selector, so a gap in any of these links shows up as soon as a new player joins.

Cylex has three multicharacter scripts. Multicharacter V3 is the newest and the one this page focuses on; V2 and v1 are older and still sold. This page explains how they differ and which one fits which server. For screenshots, prices and the full feature list, see the Multicharacter V3 product page.

Multicharacter V3, grouped by use

For players

Each character stands in a live scene with its own camera, weather and time. There are 23 scenes, shown at random or fixed, and players change the pose and location with a key. Two players on the character screen at the same time can pair their characters as lovers or friends. A photo mode lets players frame their own shot with a free camera and lights. The menu has a classic and a cinematic style, each with dark and light themes.

For server owners

Every player gets five slots by default, with more per licence or Discord role. Deleting characters and the /logout command can be limited to chosen licences, roles or admin groups. Character events can be logged to Discord webhooks, new characters can receive starter items, and new scenes are added with the in-game editor.

Spawn and apartments

After a character is picked, V3 shows its own spawn selector with the last location, or hands over to the spawn script you already run. New characters can start in qb-apartments, ps-housing, qbx_properties or 0r-apartment.

The older versions: V2 and v1

Multicharacter V2 shows characters in their outfits in one of seven fixed places, with cash, bank, job and hours played next to each. New characters fill in an identity form, and slots can be raised by Discord role.

Multicharacter v1 is a simpler QBCore menu to create, select and delete characters. It is the only Cylex multicharacter with an open source version, and it is also sold in a bundle with Cylex Spawn Selector.

Framework and resource requirements

Multicharacter V3

  • Framework: ESX, QBCore or QBox
  • Database: oxmysql or mysql-async
  • Clothing: detected on start: illenium-appearance, fivem-appearance, qb-clothing, esx_skin and 11 more, including Cylex Apex Clothing
  • Spawn and apartment scripts: optional, detected on start

Multicharacter V2

  • Framework: QBCore, QBox or ESX
  • Database: oxmysql
  • A clothing script, for example illenium-appearance, fivem-appearance, qb-clothing or skinchanger

Multicharacter v1

  • Framework: QBCore

Escrow, open source and subscriptions

V3 and V2 are sold as escrow versions only. The core is protected by Cfx.re Asset Escrow, while the config, locales and framework bridges stay open. Multicharacter v1 comes as an escrow version and an open source version, and both are also sold with Spawn Selector as an escrow bundle or an open source bundle.

If you would rather pay monthly, the GOLD subscription includes V2, v1 and Spawn Selector, and DIAMOND adds V3. Subscriptions contain the escrow versions.

Choosing a multicharacter setup

Your framework's own character menu

ESX and QBCore come with a basic multicharacter resource, which is enough to create and pick characters. A replacement adds scenes, slot rules and spawn handoff, at the cost of one more resource to configure.

V3, V2 or v1

V3 suits servers that want live scenes, partner scenes, a photo mode and a spawn selector in one resource. V2 suits servers that want outfit previews and an identity form in fixed places. v1 suits QBCore servers that want a plain menu or need the full source code.

Installation, updates and support

After payment the resource is added to your Cfx.re account and appears in the Cfx.re Portal. Remove your old multicharacter script, set Config.Multichar to true on ESX, and start V3 after your database and framework. There is no SQL file to import. Setup guides are in the documentation for Multicharacter V3 and Multicharacter V2.

Updates are published to the same Portal entry and listed in the changelog. Support is handled on the Cylex Discord.

Multicharacter script FAQ

Can two players appear together on the character screen?

Yes, in V3, while both players are on the character screen. Partner scenes can be turned off in config.

Can I keep my current spawn selector?

Yes. V3 hands over to qs-spawn, cd-spawn, qb-spawn or renzu-spawn, or to your own handler in an open bridge file.

Can VIP or donator roles get more character slots?

Yes. Role lookups in V3 need your Discord server ID and a bot token in server.cfg; the highest matching role counts.

Can I stop players from deleting characters?

Yes. Deletion can be turned off for everyone and allowed only for chosen licences or Discord roles.

Does it work with Cylex Apex Clothing?

Yes. Apex Clothing presents itself as illenium-appearance, which both V3 and V2 support, so characters load their looks from it without extra setup. See the FiveM clothing script page.

Which languages does V3 include?

English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Turkish. Players can pick their own in the settings.
